Serge Sargsyan: Armenian-German relations have risen to a new level
During the meeting with the German Ambassador to Armenia Heike Renate Peitsch, RA Prime Minister Serge Sargsyan said the Armenian-German relations have risen to a new qualitative level during her tenure in office. The Ambassador in her turn noted that Germany has played a great role in the development of Armenia-EU relations, particularly, in involving Armenia in the European Neighborhood Policy Program, as well as in assisting with adoption of the EU-Armenia Action Plan in November 2006. As one of the largest EU donor countries, Germany may also have a significant contribution in the implementation of this action plan. The parties attached importance to the sitting of the Armenian-German intergovernmental commission to be held September 10-14. The German Ambassador, who is completing her diplomatic mission in Armenia, considered Armenia as an exemplary country in terms of cooperation with it and expressed confidence that this cooperation will expand and develop during the tenure of her successor.

President Serzh Sargsyan received the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China
President Serzh Sargsyan received the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Armenia Hon Juiyin, who is concluding his mission in our country.
The President of Armenia thanked the Ambassador of China for his activities aimed at the enhancement of the Armenian-Chinese relations and noted that relations between the two countries develop dynamically.
Serzh Sargsyan wished the Ambassador of China success in his future endeavors.
The Speaker of the National assembly, Hovik Abrahamyan received the Head of OSCE Office in Yerevan, Sergey Kapinos.
The interlocutors highly assessed the cooperation between the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and OSCE Office in Yerevan, and noted with satisfaction that all the events envisaged by the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and OSCE Office in Yerevan on April 15, 2009 were successfully carried out during the previous year.
Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan proposed to sum up the programmes of cooperation envisaged for 2010 and continue working jointly in the sphere of the development of professional capacities of the National Assembly.
During the meeting the sides also discussed the issue of improving the legislation of the Republic of Armenia in accordance with the European standards.
